My name is Klára, and the creation of this brand was driven by more than just coincidence — though, in the end, it was coincidence that led me to Maison de Luxe.
I’ve loved fashion since I was a child. Even as a teenager, I knew I wanted to devote myself to it fully, so I decided to study at a secondary fashion school in Prague. The school taught me to understand materials and recognize the quality of craftsmanship in individual pieces. Since then, I’ve been working in the world of fashion and styling.
At 21, I bought my first designer handbag — and I still have it to this day. But fashion has never been just about style for me; it’s also about value, craftsmanship,
and the story behind each piece.
After the birth of my second daughter, I began thinking about how to balance caring for my family with work that would truly fulfill me. At the time, I was selling some of my pre-loved pieces, and that’s when the idea of flexible entrepreneurship came to me. So I created a profile on an international platform and started selling luxury items.
Maison de Luxe was quite literally born in my living room. Surrounded by children’s toys, I cleaned, authenticated, and photographed handbags. One day, I decided I no longer wanted my workshop to be in the dining room — so I moved into a showroom on Wenceslas Square. And just like that, my next “child” began to take shape: the Maison de Luxe project, which in French means “House of Luxury.”
I believe in slow fashion. It doesn’t make sense to me to keep buying new handbags when older ones are often of higher quality and can bring joy to someone else. There’s something beautiful about a handbag that would otherwise sit forgotten in a closet coming back to life and finding a new owner.
I carefully select each handbag, authenticate it, clean it, and gently restore it. Hundreds of handbags have passed through my hands. I’ve completed authentication training abroad and continue to deepen my expertise in this area. We work with trusted suppliers from around the world, so you can be sure that every piece you find here is an authentic original in excellent condition.
